A sweltering summer in Hong Kong can be quite brutal. From the blazing sun to the insufferable humidity, you’ll find yourself covered in sweat by the time you step outside your front door. While many Hongkongers seek refuge in cosy cafes, dine at new restaurants, or shop at malls, some brave souls prefer to cool down by hitting up the city’s best pools. With a stunning view, these beautiful hongkong pools are the perfect spots to soak up some sunshine and swim away your worries.

Located right in the heart of downtown Hong Kong, Island Shangri-La’s outdoor pool is sure to make you feel like you’re vacationing at a beachside resort. Complete with an avenue of palm trees, umbrella-lined lounge chairs, and a massive pool – this is one swimming pool that’s definitely worth checking out.

If you’re not staying at the hotel, non-hotel guests can still visit the pool on weekdays for four hours with a public swimming pass which costs HKD 600 for adults and HKD 300 for kids. But if you’re willing to shell out more, there are plenty of hotel pools in Hong Kong that offer exclusive access for their guests. Some even have a pool bar where you can order snacks and drinks to keep you going throughout your swim.

The first and oldest public swimming pool in Hong Kong, Victoria Park Swimming Pool was established in 1957 and opened by Governor Sir Alexander Grantham. The pool was a popular gathering place for the local community and attracted a large crowd of swimmers during its inaugural year. Today, the pool is a heritage site and remains the only public swimming pool with a spectator stand in the city.

With a main pool, teaching pool, leisure pool and a pool designed for toddlers, this swimming complex is a great place to bring the whole family out for a refreshing day of fun in the water. It’s also got a slew of waterslides and water shooters to keep the younger ones entertained.

The only thing that could possibly make this pool better is if it were located on an actual tropical island. With a gorgeous skyline and crystal clear waters, this is the perfect pool to relax by and enjoy some stunning views.

If you’ve always wanted to see Hong Kong from a new angle, then this is the place to do it. Located on the 118th floor of the International Commerce Center, the Ritz Carlton’s indoor pool is a must-see. Complete with mirrored ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, and LED walls that showcase an illusion of coral reefs, this is one pool that’s sure to take your breath away.
